LOW TOLERANCE TO FRUSTRATION
Although there are temperamental differences between children, they are not born with an ability to tolerate discomfort, it is continually learned.
As children grow older, they see increasing opportunities to build their own frustration tolerance (F.T.). Every time they encounter an obstacle to their goals, and are encouraged to work against them in these situations, they are building their frustration tolerance.
Skills to tolerate frustration can be learned and are often needed to achieve long-term goals.
