THERAPEUTIC MODEL
We follow a cognitive-behavioural therapeutic line: Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), founded by Dr. Albert Ellis in 1955, which stresses the importance of the triad of thought-emotion-behaviour in the maintenance of psychological problems.
TREC is an effective therapy for coping with everyday life situations. It seeks to make the person aware of the problem and see their share of responsibility for creating and maintaining it as a result of their own belief (or thought) system. It emphasises that it is irrational beliefs, mainly made up of demands and false needs, that generate most emotional and behavioural problems.

Albert Ellis developed the Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) model and synthesised it with the acronym ABC.
- Triggering event or adversity. Situation or event that disturbs us.
- Beliefs. The thoughts we have about this fact and which are a reflection of deeply held beliefs or philosophies of life.
- Emotional and behavioural consequences: how we have felt and behaved
It is a very practical and directive therapy that includes exercises and tasks to do at home to help the person to solve their emotional problem in a brief and effective way. It is also a profound therapy because it is not limited to alleviating the symptoms of the person's discomfort, but goes to the heart of the problem, provoking deep and permanent philosophical changes that result in an improvement in the quality of life. Moreover, it is a multimodal and integrative therapy that can be applied in many formats, both in individual (children, adolescents, young people and adults), group, couple, sexual, family or other therapies. And, finally, it is an effective therapy in a very high percentage of problems.
