DIFFICULTIES IN SOCIAL RELATIONS
Knowing how to develop socially and understanding relationships with others is necessary for an emotionally healthy life.
Social Skills are the way people interact and relate to others and are essential for children to adapt to the environment in which they live, skills that will later allow them to develop in the social world.
These skills are made up of a wide range of ideas, feelings, beliefs and values that are the result of learning and experience and that influence the attitudes and behaviours we have when interacting with others.
Children with difficulties in social relationships:
- They have difficulties in expressing wishes and opinions
- They manifest problems of self-esteem
- They are shy. Difficulty in relating to others.
- May show academic difficulties due to fear of asking questions
- Show emotional distress
Work based on social skills enables the development of the necessary abilities to cope successfully with relationships with others and to improve children's self-esteem.
